Self Service Reporting

Hello, when I create a new report, in the first step I have selected Top Level ItemType (e.g. Part), why the "Selected Related" showed only "Alternates" and "config_id(Part)"? According to demo, it should automatically list all the relationships. I've tried several other itemtypes, the results are the same, only above two are listed. Best regards chenze

  • I have also encountered this problem. I'd like to create a multi-level Part report, but the only Select Related items are Alternates and config_ID. This is on an administrator account so I don't think it's a permissions problem. Any chance someone could suggestion a possible solution? Cheers, Ben
  • Hello, I've encountered this issue before, and it seems to only happen in certain browsers. Aras currently supports IE, Firefox, Google Chrome, and Edge (Edge will not work if you are using a version of Innovator before 11.0 SP9). Could you please try to create a report in another browser to see if this resolves the issue you are seeing? Chris

  • That did it, thanks Chris! It's seems to be working properly on Firefox. It's quite interesting how different everything behaves between browsers, each seems to have their own quirks and minor issues. I'm trying to generate an assembly parts list using the self-servicing reporting tool, but I'm not having much luck. I want something similar to the PE module BOM Quantity Roll-up report, but with the ability to more easily edit and control the results. I can't seem to work out the right combination of structure, properties, and pivots that gets me the right thing. Ideally I want to only show parts that don't have any child parts. Do you have any tips on how I should structure the report to get a flat part's list result that I'm looking for?
  • Hello, I'm not sure that a Self Service Report is the correct choice for this kind of report. I'm not aware of a way to collapse multiple levels of a Part BOM into one a flat list of parts using only Self Service Reporting. It is possible to create a copy of the existing BOM Quantity Roll-up report, and then change the Stylesheet to edit how the report is displayed to make it fit your use case. Chris
