Can not edit Part when it has state \"Released\"

Excute flow steps:
  1. Search part that has state "Released"
  2. Right click on that part at step 1
  3. Choose edit to excute edit Part
  4. Show dialog "You have insufficient permission to perform operation"
I try to setting permission in Administration but it does not work. I also try to setting Part in ItemType but it does not work too Vivian

  • Hi Vivian, Typically, we don't expect a Part to be changed once it's in the released state. In order to make any edits, we would recommend first creating a new revision of the Part. This new revision will automatically be set back to the Preliminary state. There are two ways you can create a new revision for a Part.
    1. If you are the owner of the Part, you can run the "Create New Revision" action under the Actions menu
    2. You can add the Part to a Change Management item and choose to create a new revision of the Part from there
      1. A new revision of the Part will be created when the CM item has been completely voted through its workflow
      2. You can see a demo of this CM functionality here

  • Hi Chris, Thank so much for your answer. I try to many times same as the link but it seems not work. My Aras quite different and more complicated than in link. I used “Create New Revision” on source to up version and it run well but it depends on Aras setting to access to edit the Part that I want to revision. Recently I met a situation, I can not up revision because of Aras config not allow edit Part which one in state "Released". I try to use Tool - > Admin -> Reset Item Access. It allow edit although Part is in state "Released". I don't know where setting to prevent edit Part when it in state "Released". Please show me if you could. Thank a lot. Vivian.
  • Hi Vivian, When creating a Life Cycle for an ItemType, you can assign specific permissions for each state the Item can be in. The default permissions for a Released Part do not allow users to manually edit them. You can change this either by directly editing the Released Part permission or by assigning a different Permission to the released state of the Part's Life Cycle Map. Chris
