Collaboration Folders

This feature enhances the handling of multi-level folder structures within the Aras Product Engineering and Program Management applications. For other item types, please refer to the data model.

Each folder can contain simple attachments (files) or controlled (related) items, such as documents or parts (Poly Item List). The multi-level folder tree grid allows users to drag and drop files onto folder rows. It also provides actions to view items, lock or unlock them, and add controlled items or subfolders to folder rows.

Folder Templates: These enable the creation of predefined folder structures with linked files or controlled items. When a folder is created from a template, these structures and items are copied over.

Team Access: This feature promotes collaboration by allowing team members with designated roles—Manager, Member, and Guest—to access data managed within folders. Each folder structure or substructure can be assigned its own private teams to maintain confidentiality and focus.
