How to include .tiff files for visual markup

We are running Version 11 SP10 and have Secure Social enabled for some item types.  One in particular we would like to display .pdf and .tif/.tiff files for mark up.  I am able to get the .pdf to display, however, the .tiff will not.  I have modified the file selector template to only include the ID's for the file types but still no luck.  Any suggestions/tips on this?  Thanks in advance. Mike

  • Hi Mike, Could you please check that the TIFF FileType is set to use the Advanced Image Viewer? You can check under the "View With" relationship tab of the TIFF FileType item under Administration > File Handling > FileTypes in the TOC. Also, which ItemType are you attempting to display TIFFs for? Chris ________________________________ Christopher Gillis Aras Labs Software Engineer
  • Chris, Thanks for the reply.  Yes, "Advanced Image Viewer" is the viewer for tif, tiff.  The item type is a custom one that we created.  Thanks again. Mike
  • Hi Mike, Could you please clarify the structure of your custom item? Is there a relationship to File directly from your custom ItemType, or is there an intermediate relationship such as the OOTB Part->Document->File relationship structure? • Chris, Thanks for the reply.  The item type relationship is:
    • Custom Item Type / Custom Item Type Affected Items / Affected Item
    • in the above i am pulling back the document change controlled items to be available for markup.  i am doing this via a method i created and calling as a reference <Item type="Custom Item Type" id="${id}" action="get my affected control items"/>

  • Hello, I've tested this using the OOTB Express ECO and Simple ECO ItemTypes, and I can confirm that the .tiff image is able to viewed after a Document is added as an affected item. One thing to note here is that the files to be displayed in this relationship are being pulled from the Affected Items. Because of this, the FileSelectorTemplate of the child ItemType must be changed rather than the FileSelectorTemplate of the Express ECO or Simple ECO. Could you please confirm that you have updated the FileSelectorTemplate of the ItemType you are adding as an Affected Item rather than your Custom Item Type? Additionally, if you are still having this issue, could you please provide the code that runs in your custom "get my affected control items" method? • Thanks, Chris.  I was able to resolve this yesterday.  The issue, as I think you pointed out above, is that I was adding my file filter to the custom item type.  I needed to add it to the type I was pulling back (Document).  As soon as I added the ID of the .tif/.tiff the file(s) appeared as expected. Not sure if there is a way for me to "close" this post but my issue is resolved.  Thanks again!
