Hi Mike,
Could you please check that the TIFF FileType is set to use the Advanced Image Viewer? You can check under the "View With" relationship tab of the TIFF FileType item under Administration > File Handling > FileTypes in the TOC.
Also, which ItemType are you attempting to display TIFFs for?
