Update Associated Assembly of a part automatically
When we update a part, for instance we change models, we want the same part in all the associated assemblies to be updated automatically. Current process • Look up part to be updated • Click on Views and select where used (this is the list of assemblies the part currently exists in) • Update any details impacted by the change (AML, AVL, and Goals), new part and price • After save, we must go into each assembly and review where used • Update by locking, saving and unlocking, then into each assembly here. We have to follow this process to update each assembly it touches until we get to the Building assembly as that is our very top. Instead of going to each assembly and updating the part, we want this to happen automatically.19KViews0likes14CommentsError for the New Workflow for Components
Hi, I would like to simplify the Express ECO workflow for "component" classification Parts. I created a new Express ECO workflow by saving as the original. I am using an internal method to get different workflows for different classifications. So I defined the new workflow for the "Components" in the method. I deleted "In Planning" activity in this new workflow. However, I get the below. I can not understand what the exact error is and how to fix it. "Aras.Server.Core.ItemIsLockedException" thanks Duygu17KViews0likes10CommentsFilter List from Part Classification
Hi, instead of classification field in the PART item type, if we want to define subtypes in a separate field in the PART form how can we configure the filter list? For example, we have component types as Capacitors, Resistors, etc. For Capacitors, we have a detailed subtype list and we want to define them as filter list. thank you Duygu13KViews0likes6CommentsAdjusting the visualization of graph
Hi everyone, a few months ago I had asked a question about displaying relations: https://community.aras.com/f/applications/8963/displaying-relation-between-parts-found-in-different-product-structures which led to creating a graph/web as shown below. I've got 2 follow up questions: Is there a way to hide/remove the middle blocks with randomly generated ID numbers when I expand an 'Assembly'. Is there a way to give each "type" of block a different colour? (e.g. Assembly = red, Component = blue, Software = Purple") Thanks in advance! I truly appreciated the help I got earlier. I'm happy to answer questions if necessary.8.4KViews0likes4CommentsRevert to previous Revision
I have a part which was in released state and revision A. After making some changes, it has moved to revision B and preliminary state. The assemblies related to the part show revision A. I want to revert the part to revision A with released state so that when I click on Views-->where used, I can see all the assemblies related to it. Thanks, Barnali8.3KViews0likes6CommentsPart Number removed from ECO during mid workflow
A user has mistakenly removed a part number that was previously in a "Released" state from an ECO and now the part has multiple generations in a preliminary state. I need to correct this issues so that all previous versions of this part # is attached to the ECO and that only the latest generation of the part # is in a released state. Can you please provide steps for a fix?8.1KViews0likes5CommentsChange 'Save As' to use part number sequence instead of adding Copy Of in the part number field?
With Aras V11, SP15: For the Part Item type, we have a pattern setup that we want all parts to follow this pattern: PRT-##### and we want it restricted to this length (9). This works. However, when someone does a 'Save AS' or in an Express ECO chooses to renumber a part. we get this error "The given value of type String from the data source cannot be converted to type nvarchar of the specified target column." This is because we've set the item_number length to equal 9 and Aras is trying to create a new part with the number field set "Copy of PRT-#####". We can get past the error by setting the item_number length to 20 but we don't want to do this as people can then create parts that don't match our pattern. Where can we change it so Aras doesn't add the "Copy of" in front of the original part's number: We'd also ideally like it to just grab the next number in our part number sequence. I've been hunting through aras methods but can't find where the "Copy of" is being added. Anyone know? Thanks.Solved7.7KViews0likes4CommentsSet a customized user in workflow history
Hi, I want to set a specific user in workflow history report. Consider I've Part item which have 3 states A,B and C. Usually the signoff from B->C is done by X always but I want to set it to Z in workflow history report. Can I know how it is possible ? Thanks6.8KViews0likes3CommentsPSW lifecycle state promotions
Hello, How is the lifecycle promotions for the part submission warrant set up out of the box? I can see that there's a "PPAP Lifecycle" r the PSW. Is it connected to any of the OOTB change management items or are you meant to manually promote the PSW? Are you meant to make your own workflow map for the PSW? It doesn't seem like I can promote it manually either. I'm using aras 11 sp12. Best Regards Rick5.3KViews0likes2Comments
