How to define export data for Excel, Word or PDF?

Hi everyone,

We need to export some of out Process Plans for external use, but when we export to Word, PDF or Excel, only the name, description and process plan number are included in the document.

How could we go about configuring this?

    Hi,

    you cannot reuse the regular Word/PDF/Excel Export button for this one. To export a ProcessPlan as file, you need to click the "Publish Process Plan" button.

    This service requires some additional installation steps. You should find them in the documentation.

      Ahh, I see, it seems the feature requires a subscription. I guess the next best thing would be using reports...

        Yes subscription is required.

        I also look for solution to publish ProcessPlans without Subskription. Aras unfortunately started to discontinue existing subscriber accounts. There will be a lot of users who have to face this issue.

        The original Aras service uses the "Prince XML" engine. This one allowed that you use your custom stylesheet for the print. The same publishing engine is also used in other aras applications like TechDocs and Requirements Management. 

        I am thinking about developing an own Prince implementation or using a similar engine. Using a report is theoretically possible, but also not easy to implement. Reports are designed to work with item properties and table data. But ProcessPlans are not just stored within simple items. There is a lot of xml content. To render this kind of data is not the easiest task.

        Would be happy to stay in contact for finding a solution for this one.
