Edge upgrade kills search grid - find workaround here

Hi communty,

if today your Edge users report that "Innovator doesn´t work" - this is the post you need.

Does you Innovator look like this?

Solution #1: Use Chrome

OR

Solution #2 (temporary workaround until we find a better fix):

Add SearchMode ItemType to TOC. Edit Simple Search mode. Uncomment yellow highlighted line:

Affected Edge Version: 154.0.4258.37

  • The Edge upgrade only seems to affect Innovator 12 versions.

    Innovator 14 is not affected.

  • Hello,

Thank you for posting this workaround.

I am new to Aras administration and I am having the same issue on Aras Innovator 12 SP9 (Build 24090) with Edge 154.0.4258.37.

Could you please provide more detailed instructions for Solution #2?

I am not sure where the SearchMode ItemType is located, how to add it to the TOC, and where the highlighted code should be modified.

    Thank you in advance.

I was already wondering how long it would take for the first reply to this post. I think there will be many more to come.

I currently work on a better solution. The workaround will have some minor impact to Saved Searches / Favorites. The patch eliminates the automatic switch to SearchMode AML or Advanced.

      1. Login as Admin
      2. Navigate to TOC -> Administration -> ItemType
      3. Search for ItemType SearchMode
      4. Go to TOC Access tab
      5. Add Identity Administrators. You can choose a Category, but you don´t have to
      6. Save the ItemType, SearchMode will be available in the TOC

      Then

      1. Navigate to TOC -> Administration -> Permissions
      2. Search for Permission SearchMode
      3. Add Administrators and give them get and update rights.
      4. Save permission

      Then

      1. Navigate to SearchMode in TOC
      2. Open Simple SearchMode
