- christopher_gillisCommunity ManagerHello, There's no out-of-the-box dialog to handle these kinds of updates to the user though the permissions on the User ItemType are configured to allow each User to edit their own information. The most straightforward way to handle this would be to create a custom form with the fields you want to update and then use an action to open a custom dialog with that form. Chris
Christopher Gillis Aras Labs Software Engineer - SathishCreator IHello Christopher, Thanks for the lead. I have created a custom form that opens fine in a modal dialog. However, Can you please help me how do I dynammically bind a user item to populate the form fields. I now get the logged in user using var userId = top.aras.getUserID(); and then fetch the User Item. I want to populate the form fields based on the properties of this User Item.
- angelaCatalyst IIThere was a tech summit demo presentation at ACE Europe showing a way to handle permission based properties. It enables users with limited permissions to customize certain properties in the Form. The solution is intented to work for all ItemTypes and saves the additional work you have to spend for building custom forms. According to the speaker, they actually plan to provide the sample as a community project. I expect the German Aras team can provide us additional information about the current status of this project.
