I have been looking to generate SSR (Self Service Report in ARAS 31).

I have done that in ARAS 11. But In ARAS 31 the features and UI has changed , and lot of options like Filter, Item property ... ect. are not available .

Could you please hele me to find a way to create SSR in ARAS 31.

Thanks in Advance ,

  • Hi!

The SSR service you know from I11 was discontinued. It´s not available anymore in any of the new versions. BUT: It was replaced with something better! These kind of reports can now be done with Query Definitions.

Go to the Aras Update tool and install the "Aras Reporting" app (or go to FTP). There are also manuals that will explain every question you have now. Aras even has a community project to convert your old SSR reports to the new engine.

From my personal POV the previous SSR service never worked great. It used an external engine with limits the amount of possibilities for the users AND Aras. But: SSR set the foundation for the QueryBuilder and TGV concept, so it was an important step in Innovator history. But be happy that we know have better options!

    Hi Salini

You're absolutely right—ARAS Innovator 31 comes with a lot of changes compared to version 11, especially in terms of UI and reporting features. Creating an SSR (Self Service Report) now involves a slightly different process.

Here’s a quick guide to help you get started:

    1. Go to TOC > Reporting > Reports
Choose the report type as Self Service and create a new report entry.

    2. Query Definition
Instead of the old filter options, ARAS 31 now uses "Query Definitions" to pull data. You’ll need to create or link a relevant query under this section.

    3. Display Columns
Once your query is connected, select the fields you want to display—this replaces the earlier "Item Properties" setup.

    4. Permissions
Make sure your user role or identity has permission to access the report and query.

    5. Test & Adjust
After saving, run the report in user view to confirm it displays as expected.

It does take a bit of getting used to, but once you're familiar with the new layout, it’s quite effective.

Also, as someone who's been exploring different tools and services for academic and professional support, if you're ever working on leadership-related modules like ILM Level 5 assignments, I found UK ILM Assignment Help services to be really useful, especially when juggling work and learning new platforms like ARAS.
