How to roll-up cycle times and costs of MBOM in Aras MPP Process Plans?
At the moment, we can add cycle times and setup times to operations, and cycle times to steps. But this information does not display anywhere once entered. That is fine, but at least if there was the ability to roll-up the cycle times of all the operations in the Process plan, taht would be great. Has anybody attempted this on their isntances? On a similar vein, the phantoms and MBOM only parts consumed have costs associated with them (for ex. I intend to have 'Material' category parts in the MBOM (we use polyureethanes for casting) as the quantity and hence the cost of the material is a process parameter and not an EBOM item. Is there any way to roll-up the 'MBOM cost'? Would appreciate if anybody could point me in the direction of how to set this up Regards Sachin
MPP Execution - Is it in the plans? or how do people integrate with other tools?
I am very new to the Aras world... I have seen the demo of how the EBOM is converted to the MBOM by the creation of a MPP. The MPP is a great way to provide instructions for technicians, assemblers, and other shop floor staff to know what needs to be done. But what about the next step? Is there functionality in Aras to step technicians through the MPP operations record the outcome (time, date, who did it, pictures, torque values, etc...) in the system as an "As-Run" of the MPP? You could see how records of quality checks by QA staff, problem reports arising during the assembly steps, test results, images, etc... would be great to have in the same system as the design. I know that this is getting into the MES (Manufacturing Execution System) space that Aras may not be in yet. If Aras doesn't have this capability how are people tying into other MES systems to capture this As-Run?
MPP Consumed Parts in Steps instead of Operations
Hi, you use MPP? And you want to use Consumed Parts in the Steps instead of Operations? And you do not want to spend more money on your implementation partner because you're tired of questionable half-done solutions of poor programming quality? Than you are right here! When building a Process Plan, consumed elements appear in one block below Operations. For a more detailed work instruction it´s possible to use ‘Steps’. But it´s right now not possible, to assign consumed elements to Steps. The current version works well for picking all relevant components that are needed for building a product. Thus our current process plans works very good for the people in the warehouse, but they are sometimes difficult to use for those who actually need to build the product. The process plan doesn´t provide distinct informational, which material is actually required for each step. In complex process plans we often have to repeat information about the used resources in the Steps manually. E.g. in case an Operation contains 4 different types of screws, in each Step it is necessary to provide more precise information about the consumed Part again. I already made some tests and it´s possible to assign assign Parts, Tools, Resources to ‘Steps’ instead of ‘Operations’. I already did most of the customization for the ProcessPlan renderings! But it´s still a lot of work! So I wonder if there is anybody else out there that wants to solve this use case? Espcially I would need help to modify the correct codetree files, MBOM/EBOM comparison and especially help in debugging! Anyone interested? AngelaHow to avoid wrong revision used in MPP?
Hi Community, there is a known issue in MPP that the application will not check if the MBOM uses the same Part revisions as specified in the EBOM. The EBOM/MOBM mainly validates quantities, but never checks if the used parts revision matches. The missing revision check is a high risk. We cannot trust the MBOM data if in certain cases they will not match the original values specified in the EBOM. In worst case, this can lead to serious problems in the final product. How shall we fully track our product lifecycle, when we have wrong data? Unfortunately MPP is not in the focus of Aras right now. So I do not assume there will be much development in this application. I wonder if it´s possible to add the revision check on our own? Maybe we can customize the Method mpp_GetBomTreeGrid to add an additional MBOM validation. Or a simple onBeforeAdd Method when adding Consumed Parts to Operations, that checks if the Part exactly matches the Part specified in the EBOM. The second idea is probably easier to do, but we have to consider that we may have a multilevel EBOM. Do you have any additional ideas? I would be happy to share my solution as soon as I have one, as this one constantly make me worry.Installation of PQB Package for Process Quality linking between MPP and QMS in Innovator 11SP12
Is there an updated version of the Process Quality Binding (PQB) package available that corresponds to Innovator 11sp12? I have already installed Manufacturing Process Planning (MPP) version 11.0R3 and Quality Management System (QMS) version 11.0R2. I found version 11.0R1 of PQB on Aras update but that does not seem to work because 'not the correct version of innovator'. Is there an updated package already available from Aras that can be manually isntalled? I fnot when can we expect an updated version of PQB on Aras Update for automated isntall? Hi Community, does anybody know if there are any current or planned features that helps to compare two MBOMs? It right now just to be seems impossible as we cannot use the structure browser for this task. I want to compare the MBOMs of two different ProcessPlans but also the MBOMs of two different ProcessPlan revisions. Does anybody know compare options that we can use beside the standard structure browser? Thanks! Angela

I installed manulally some of the packages like Product Engineering, Project Management into the innovator. after installation, when i come back to innovator to create new item in process plan, it's showing client side error: The method "mpp_OnShowProcessPlan" failed. aras_object: "undefined" : "invalid assignment left-hand side" Client Side Error. Hi, I recently installed Aras Innovator V12.0. I was using Aras Innovator V11.Sp12 where all my work was done. Now, i would like to switch to V12.0, I have few tables around 9 tables in which two tables of Manufacturing Process Plan and Operations, the rest are customized item types. How can i import the data of some of the tables which i need from V11.Sp12 to V12.0. Thanks.
