Replacing a License
I run Aras on a cloud based VM Ware image - so whenever I deploy it the machine gets a new MAC Address and that invalidates the current Aras license. I can generate a new one straight away no problem ...

I found the issue.
After deploying a new VM Instance it gets a new server name - which becomes part of the SQL Server Database name. You must open SQL Server Management Studio - browse for the new server instance name and record it - and update the InnovatorServerConfig.xml file with the new DB name.
Of course you also have to replace the <License entry in that same file
