Creating new Part Classification/Type
Hello
I'd like to add another Type (classification) to the list of those selectable when creating a new Part... Assembly, Component, Material etc.
Is this straightforward, and if so, how do I do it?...

Hi Bob,
To add a new class to the Part classification structure, you're going to edit the Part ItemType.

- Login to Aras as an Administrator (ex: "admin" User)
- Select Administration > ItemTypes in the Table of Contents (TOC).
- Search for the Part ItemType.
- Right click the Part ItemType and select Edit.
- Click the Class Structure button on the Part ItemType form.
- In the dialog that appears, right click on the root node and select Add SubClass to Part.
- Enter your classification name into the new node.
- Click the green checkmark icon to commit your change and close the dialog.
- Save the Part ItemType.
