Creating a New Workflow including Item Type

Hi all,   im looking to create a custom workflow for an RFQ Process. While I am able to map a workflow, I am not sure how to do the following:
  1. I would like the RFQ process to show up as a subsection in the portfolio, not sure how to do that.
  2. Once the RFQ workflow is complete, I would like it to automatically trigger a project. I would like the template selection to be based on the final voting given in the workflow (in the last activity, the user will select the required template based on the development characteristics identified)
  3. I would like to be able to link the workflow activity with the project activity.
Any help/ relevant tutorials or community projects for the same would be extremely helpful! Im sorry if my questions are vague, I am very new to this so i may not be using the correct lingo. Looking forward to learning from you all. Thanks!

    1. What do you mean by a subsection? should it be another menu in the left Table Of Content?
    2. This has to be done in a server method triggered by a workflow server event
    3. Could be done, once again on project creationg following the end of the workflow but there you need a precise specification, seems tricky to me.
