Configure Database step fails during installation

I am installing Aras Innovator on a sandbox server Windows 2016 and MSSQL Express 2014 I am using default setting as recommened in the Aras tourturial on youtube The Innovator installation fails at the following step: Configure database. The steps fails when I press Configure Database with the following message: "[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Password validation failed. The password does not meet Windows policy requirement because it is too short." I can login to the sql server with the SQL Studio Management tool both with the 'sa' user and the 'innovator' user using SQL Server Authentication If I make test.udl and use both the 'sa' and the 'innovator' user I can connect to the database.

    I forgot to say my password is 12 char long with Upper and Lower cases. It countain numbers and the special char @

    I got it solved. Instead of using mssql2014 express I tied with mssqlexpress 2017 together with Innovator 11 SP 12 Also instead of using the sa user in sql authentication to connect to the database I used windows authentication for connection to the database. Then it worked
