Forum Discussion
Hi community,
some update to this one. The feature to pin TOC-Views made it to the roadmap! Together with a lot of other "community spoke about it first" -topics.
It´s yet another clear proof of my conspiracy theory that we have an imposter :-) :
I just wonder which Aras employee suddenly has discovered that they had this forum. Reveal yourself! [emoticon:c28b2e4cc20f4ba28d1befdba6bed29c]
Hi AngelaIp / community,
Is the feature available now, if yes?
How to achieve it by CUI for custom Itemtypes?

It´s not available yet, cause Aras has some bigger plans for the sidebar. They plan a full editor now:
But we already have a few sidebar related hacks in this forum.
Regarding pinning TOC-Views: In my case I had a couple of TOC views that were only relevant for a very specific group of people. So I simple "pinnend" the 3 relevant TOC views for this specific group identity to the top header. Technically it´s CUI elements that open a TOC view.
The custom CUI variant has few advantages and extra features. User can open the same TOC view multiple times. The tab label can be overwritten by the context item to avoid confusion. And TOC views can interact which each other.
If any of the latest releases introduced a "CUI location" for the favorites sidebar, we could use the same button elements in the sidebar already. But I haven´t checked this yet. In my version the sidebar is still code generated.
@Aras: As you already have bigger plans for the sidebar - maybe also include the "Fast search grid on double click" feature: link Thanks!
