Were you able to figure out how to find the method name? If you're still working on this, I'd recommend looking into the inItem object. Maybe there is a way to access the method name from there?
The only documentation I know of that references the method templates in method-config.xml is the section of the Programmer's Guide that demonstrates how to reference custom dlls. Aras Support may be able to offer more information on method-config.xml.
