How to stop\pause life cycle promotion to edit a part?
I need to edit some Part properties such as State, Release Date, Revs, etc.
But everytime a Part is edited a new version is created where the Rev increments. I do not want this to happen.
I want to edit the part and have it not create a new version.

Depending on your Aras version, you can use the claim flag to prevent that a new version is created. But it only works reliable in newer Innovator versions...or in really old ones. -> link
If you want to deactivate the automatic revisions completely, just go to your ItemType and change Discipline to "Manual" in the "versioning" settings.Angela
