How can I reprocess discarded replication transactions?

Sometimes a remote vault goes offline due to planned patching scheduled or unplanned network outages, power outages, etc. When that happens, replication transaction fail several times and then finally get discarded.

Once the vault is back online, application teams would want to bring discarded replication transaction log entries back to the normal queue to re-process. How can this be done once the entries have gone to the REPLICATIONTXNLOG table?

  • ok ... maybe try to "edit" the transaction log and force the status to "failed" then resubmit the transaction.

if it works then you can find a way to edit multiple logs at once ...

  • You should have an action on the failed transaction logs: "resubmit" which runs the ResubmitReplicationTxn Method.

You can query the list of the transaction with status "Failed" and select them all with mouse+ shift , then right click and apply "resubmit" action to all the items in the list

The failed transactions have reached the Discarded state. So they are in the Replication Transaction Log view. If you go there and select one or more Discarded replication transactions and try to resubmit, it gives an error saying "Only failed transactions could be resubmitted".
