Just add the list value to the ItemType property.

The list value is what will be listed in the database for the property.

Sorry, I edited my answer after re-reading your reply. The value is in the list. I just did a review to make sure that all of the values are correct, and they match. The list Change Controlled Item has the value for the Document ItemType. I did a batch load to change the value of the property itemtype to the value on the list. When I use Advanced Search in Aras, only the new entry I created after adding the itemtype property is returned.
