New ItemType

Hii... I have created a new itemtype called "Docs". I have added a form and Relationship Types ( PR File - is like adding a file). i just create a instance of "Docs" from ToC. And try to add a file using Relationship type Tab. It shows an error like "The source item has to be specified in order to add a relationship." How to resolve this issue? Thank you.

  • Hi you must have a modeling issue here. did you create the relationship from the docs itemtype definition ?
  • Can i use same RelationshipType "PR File" which is used in "PR" ItemType ?
  • I don't think it will work. I would suggest you get back to the PR itemtype delete the existing relationship to file and create a new one. Make sure you configure then your PR file relationship to "create only related". This config is available in the relationship type.
  • Thank you for your valuable reply. I put it in this way. In default, When i create instance of "Documents", i can add  files (create related) through "RelationshipType Tab". The same thing i want in my new ItemType "Docs". How can i make this configuration? i made
  • Hi, I'm sorry, we can't really give you a full training on the forum. I can just give you hints or help you on issues. Here it is basic Aras configuration. So for this one, in your "Docs" Itemtype config create a classic relationship with the itemtype file and that should be it.
  • Yeah... I have created a relationship. I can add a file and it is flow on my workflow which i have defined. But When i adding a file "It does not shows the actual file name" instead of it shows "Blank cell". if i click on the Blank cell, i can view the file which i have added. Whats wrong with this? I need file's name instead of "Blank cell".
