Authentication Failed when Aras is left Idle

We are using windows authentication, which works just fine initially and as long as we are using Aras throughout the day. However, when we leave it open overnight or leave the window idle, we get the following 'Authentication failed'. Is anyone else seeing this behavior? Has anyone been able to find a fix for this issue?

The following popup comes up after some time of inactivity.

Then, I click on ‘Login Again’, which brings up the following popup.

I then change ‘Login With’ to Windows

Then Click Continue and I’m logged back in.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Adam

  • Hi Adam,

This is intended behavior. For security reasons it makes sense to force a re-log. Is there a specific reason you're looking to remove this?

Aras' auto log-off is reasonable, and it´s really important for security - this isn’t just for fun.

It could be worse: Compared to other software, Jira or Confluence seem to log me out whenever a cat crosses the street or a cloud drifts past the sun. Happens about ten times a day…

Short edit: Aras typically saves your preferred login options (database + windows login mode) in the Cookies! So you shouldn´t have to do the selection of the login mode each time you login. Check your browser so it allows storing Cookies for your Innovator instance. That´s maybe the trick for you!
