Feedback we’ve gotten ‘loud & clear’ at previous community events was that people want a way to see the Community Solutions in action. So, this year at ACE 2010 we tried something new. Peter got the idea from this year’s COFES (aka Congress On the Future of Engineering Software).
We called it the “Community Solution Showcase”. People each got 10 minutes to show off their Community Solution. Can do a Live Demo, a Video, Screenshots, some Slides, or just Talk… whatever. You could Show off a solution, Share your innovation, or just Get feedback on an idea.
It basically gave everyone a really fast way to see a lot of the different community solutions that have been developed or are being worked on.
Then, we had breakouts during the reception where people could talk directly with the solution presenters to learn more, find out how to get & use it and collaborate on enhancements.
So far, we’ve gotten a BIG thumbs-up on the format. The feedback’s been really positive. Everyone seemed to think it was a good, fast-paced session that gave them the right level of info… and was a lot of fun too. I like to say "Real people, Real ideas… and Real solutions"
I'd like to thank everyone who took time to participate (a number of them came from overseas for the ACE conference). Here’s the line-up with links to the materials – if you’d like to know more about them, please contact the presenter / presenting organization directly (there’s contact info on the last slide in each deck and links to their web sites below).
