Data integration with Solidworks via Direct PLM Connector

Hello everyone,

recently we have started a project with ARAS PLM. Our 3D drawings are done in Solidworks. For integration with ARAS we use DirectPLM connector. During the process we have noticed that saving an assembly into ARAS takes hours - main assembly crashed after 7hours. Has someone experienced the same or this is not normal and there should be somewhere connector configuration error?

Thank you in advance,

  • We have the same problem with the Direct PLM connector. We use Artec software -> Solidworks -> ARAS and saving the assemblies take a few hours usually with frequent crashes. Have you found the solution to this problem? If so, could you share it?

  • Well, after couple of unsuccessful attempts we involved Direct PLM vendor Focus PLM company and they cleaned the data and repeated the load process. It was not extremely fast, however, exercise was completed without crashes. So, my guess crashes happening due to incorrect drawings structure in Solidworks.
