Warn users to save data before closing the item tab

How do we warn users to save data before closing the item window. We use Custom HTML form in the Relationship tab and want to warn users of unsaved changes from here when the item window is closed?

I think you can use a Form unload or onbeforeunload event that looks for locked Relationship content.
