Hi Team,
How can I disable Edit button in toolbar once document state reaches to Released? Is it possible to control it using permissions or do we need to write any custom method - OnFormPopulated event.
Please guide me.
Thanks,
Sowmya

Hi Sowmya
In Document lifecycle, on Released state, make it as not lockable. This will prevent user from locking the released item. You can also create state wise permission and add on the life cycle state.

Hi Gopi,
I have tried both options, making Released state as Not Lockable and also added State permission for Released state in lifecycle. But none of them are making my Edit button disabled.. it needs to be grayed out as soon as document reaches Released state.
For state permission, we need to disable update access right? I have done it but seems to be not working.
Any other way to achieve this?
Thanks,

Hi Sowmya
Can you share the permission added to the released state of Document life cycle. Also confirm what is the user account you are using to lock the item. If it is a normal user, check the membership of that user.
Hi Gopi,
In released state, only Admin has full access. Rest all identity groups have been provided with Get, Can discover and show permission access.
Only 1 identity group should have Update access when item needs to be obsoleted to provide obsolete reason in form (Edit button to be enabled).
For rest of identities/users, Edit button should be grayed out.
Thanks,
Sowmya
If only admin has full access, then it should not allow others to edit the item. Can you open any released document and check the permission (View --> Permission). Also, check whether the user is member of admin
