How to add Part Item Types in TOC Access?

We have mutiple part item types created and we would like to add these item types in "Parts" category. I know that we can add Saved Search for each Item type but that doesn't look good for us. we want an item type and create action to be included in the category.

  • This project shows the use case solved with a 'massive amount of effort': https://github.com/AngelaIp/custom-itemtype-view

It´s not an official project, it shows a possible solution. I acutally do not use it by myself! But free to try it and share your ideas!

  • thanks Angelalp, this is what exactly we are looking for and I have one more query..is that possible to edit the latest generation of the old Rev, say we have A.1,A.2,A.3, B.1,B.2,B.3.. we are looking to edit A.3 and B.3.

By OOTB editing old Revision has been disabled.

AJ is absolutely right when he recommends the other approaches, cause nobody will help you to maintainace unfinished experimental stuff.

The forum is a great place to talk about this kind of ideas, but I mainly posted it for promotion purposes.
The more people are asking about certain features, the more likely we will get an official solution.

To your second request: I would recommend you to open this one in a new thread. I do not want to stop you enthusiasm, but mixing up multiple topics makes it hard for others to follow.
