I've just tried to Package a staging table environment that includes TOC Menu elements created in the TOC Editor.

The Import did not result in the rendering of the added TOC Menu Items in the TOC Menu or TOC Editor.

I would appreciate any help or in site I can get to learn what I have done wrong or left out.

The process I went through is described below.

Note: I did go through the Docs but the process to even add the [Presentation Configuration] is incorrect and does not tell what to check for in the export. So this conversation will help that.

www.aras.com/.../Importing and Exporting.htm

--- Process --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I created a Package for the configured Items, Forms, Relationships, etc. All of these Exported and Imported correctly.

I added the TOC Category (CommandBarMenu) and Itemtype (CommandBarMenuButton) to the Package using the Package Button.

Doing this added the following Package Groups to the package: Menu, Menu Button, Command Bar Section

Next:

1) I navigated to one of the configured ItemType's, [Client Style] tab

2) Double clicked on on the [Presentation Configuration] in the Grid; "rh_Oracle_Mfg_Item_TOC_Configuration"

3) Clicked [Search Presentation Configurations]

4) Searched for the required [Presentation Configurations],

5) Selected all Required

6) added then to the Package via the right Click [Admin] menu.

Doing this added the following Package Group to the package: Presentation Configuration

7) I did the Export and all packaged elements were represented in the manifest and import folders

8) I did the Import into the new staging DB instance.

www.aras.com/.../2024_2D00_1_2D00_30.12_2D00_57.log

9) In the new Instance I

   a) Opened the TOC and nothing. I opened the TOC Editor and nothing

  b) I checked the SQL Server tables to see if all the elements, defined in the XML files, had been loaded.

All Elements had been loaded into the tables:

       - PRESENTATIONCONFIGURATION

       - COMMANDBARMENU

       - COMMANDBARBUTTON

       - COMMANDBARMENUBUTTON

  c) I checked the Itemtypes to see if the [Presentation Configuration] were set on the [Client Style] TAB.

      And they were:

  d) Lastly, tried clearing the IIS cache and the Browser cache

No Luck

Thanks for the help and/or in site.

xClass Implementation Considerations for Performance

Community,

My current client wants to use xClass Properties on Itemtypes: Document, CAD, and Part.

Current Configuration

The Document and CAD Itemtypes will use xClass in a straight forward way therefore predictable data generation.

The question is Part. The Part Itemtype is being used for Engineering Parts (Classification: Assy, Comp, Material, Software, etc.) and Manufacturing Part (Classification: Manufacturing).

So for every Eng. Part there can be 1 to 3 duplicate Mfg. Parts created with the same xClass data.

Currently the client has 240 xClass Properties defined and this is just the start. I can predict that the property count will be close to 500 + when Part, CAD, Document are fully defined.

Current:

Each xclass Property requires 4 columns and each Itemtype assigned to an xClassTree (Part, CAD, Document) their item_id, and their Itemtype_id are added to each of the xp.XPROPERTYVALUE tables.

This results in five xp.XCLASSPROPERTYVALUES tables generated: xp.XCLASSPROPERTYVALUES; xp.XCLASSPROPERTYVALUES1; xp.XCLASSPROPERTYVALUES2; xp.XCLASSPROPERTYVALUES3; xp.XCLASSPROPERTYVALUES4; xp.XCLASSPROPERTYVALUES5...

Each of these tables has 100 property values stored in the 100 Columns and managed by 300 columns.

Currently only 1, of many Division, is using the Parts Classified as Manufacturing.

Goals

The client wants to use the xClass Data to do:

1) eBOM validations so performance in gathering xClassPropertyValues is key.

2) Product development regulatory definition and tracking.

Questions

1) Are there any configuration issues that should be considered?

2) Are there xClassProperty implementation considerations that you suggest?

3) Are there performance issues that should be considered?

Thanks for your time and insight.

I have created a staging table capability that will be used to generate innovator eBOMs from Oracle manufacturing BOMs.

My challenge is working with 1.7 million rows of data in SQL Server.

I know I could create a SQL procedure to get the unique (distinct) oracle Assembly IDs but I would like to use a Query Definition.

In the data model below, what is circled in RED is the Oracle Data. What is circled in Blue is where I am separating a
    1) [multi-Division, multi-Ora Org, with non distinct Assemblies (by Ora Org)] : stg_Oracle_MfgItem_MfgItem

     INTO

    2) [single-Division, multi-Ora Org, Distinct Primary Assemblies] stg_eBOM_PartBOM_Primary

     AND

    3) [single-Division, multi-Ora Org, Other Assemblies (without Primary PartBOM)] stg_eBOM_PartBOM_Other

The goal is as follows:

  2) stg_eBOM_PartBOM_Primary will be used to generate the innovator [Part BOM] relationships

  3) stg_eBOM_PartBOM_Other will be compared to stg_eBOM_PartBOM_Primary to derive Substitutes

So I would like to use a Query Definition to gather all the Distinct Oracle Assembly IDs so I can populate the stg_eBOM_PartBOM_Primary table.

Thanks in advance for your time and insight.

I have written a SQL Query, Stored Procedure, to Order an xClassTree so that the top level xClasses are in the alphabetical order.

If I run the query just as a SQL query, in SSMS, it works great.

If i run the query as a Stored Procedure in SSMS, created using the innovator SQL itemtype, it works great.

If I try and run it from a javascript method it does not work and generates a SOAP message.

The javascript code uses the following to trigger the run.

I have successfully created a heavy SQL procedure that extracts all the xClassProperty Values from an End Item Assembly so that the client can:

1) Check which xClasses do not have xProperties assigned as we build out the XClassification tree

2) Check which parts in the End Item structure are not classified

3) Check which xProperty Values fields are missing values.

4) Validate the xProperty Values in the structure against a derived End Item Product Nomenclature (Translated Product Number)

5) Etc.

It is triggered from a Itemtype Report Javascript.

I build a table that contains all the xClasses, xClassProperties and their values for the entire End Item Structure in about 13 seconds.

The issue I'm have is that I can't return a string (table Name) back to the javascript method.

   [BomStruXPropValues_3E0619CA0A7B4999A2408FDE1600599E]

In SQL Server the way you declare a variable to pass back data is via the OUTPUT clause.

CREATE PROCEDURE [rh_GetBomStructureXPropValues](@structureGuidList nVarchar(max), @ReturnTableName nVarchar(128) OUTPUT)

AS

The problem is that the Innovator SQL infrastructure see's the OUPUT clause as an Argument (ARG) instead of output (return) variable.

But what is pasted back is the collection of xp.XPropertyValues Table Names (from a tempDB table) that I create in the beginning of the to do dynamic queries against.

So here are my Questions that I need help with:

1) How do I get the Procedure to pass the table name to the javascript method via xPropValueResult?

2) How does the javascript variable xPropValueResult end up with the temdb values it?

This "Product Model Code" contains details that will be used to validate the components of the BOM.

I have created a configured Form that will be used, as on a no related Relationship, for all "Finished Goods". It is to contain the derived "Product Nomenclature" properties.

The Relationship TAB "Product Nomenclature" will be visible only for "Finished Goods".

How do I populate the configured Form presented on the Relationship tab with the instance data on the relationship itemtype. I have tried top.aras.uiShowItem but that creates a tab on the main form and not in the relationship frame.

Example:

Engineering Item Number: 1122345

Manufacturing Item Numbers: 1122345 (ABB), 1122345 (GFD), 1122345 (PLO)

In SQL I could use

   1) Where [Part].item_number like '1122345%'

   2) Where [Part].item_number like CONCAT([Part].item_number,'%') and [Part].classification = 'Manufacturing'

I tried the following in the following order as Query Definition Conditions:

1) [Part Number] like '@[Part Number]%' -- This did not work.

2) [Part Number] like '1122345%' -- This did not work

Can anyone make a suggestion here?

Are there any documents that cover/describe examples of Query Builder Condition Statements?

Thanks for the help!
