Get the Context Action Name in the Method

Hi All,

I have Multiple Server Side Item Actions Configured on the Part Item , I want the logic/functionality to be performed by each action to be controlled by the same method .

In which case , is there a way to pass the Invoking action name to the Method so that based on the value I can chose the function to be performed.

For the above action , I want to get the action name "plm_Test" while invoking the method on the Item.

This would greatly help me in avoiding creating Multiple Methods for each Action.

Hide Classification Values (in the Classification Tree) based on Criteria

Hi All,

Is there a good way to Hide some of the Classification/Type values from the select Classification Page , based on a specific criteria ?

e.g. User ABC should only see Assembly and Component in the above page when creating a Part.

Open Custom Form in A New Tab

Hello

Is there a way to open a custom Form in a New tab rather than as a Dialog in ARAS.

I believe Aras requires an item to open any window. But Mine is simply an independent Custom Form that I want to display in a new tab.

Please let me know if anyone has a workaround for the above issue.

Filter Search Grid based on Addition CUI Parameter

Hi All

I have a Search Dialog opening on an Item Property (e.g Identity)

As shown in the below Image I wish to further filter the results based on an Addition Parameter provided by the User via CUI Drop down box, I am trying to figure out a way to repopulate the Search Dialog on Change of the Additional Filter Criteria.

P.S. The Additional Filter Property may be a relationship attribute based on which the user wants to filter the Parent Items.

Hi All,

Please consider the following Use Case:

On Part Item , On After Update Server Event based on the property Values update the Related Document Property.

For this I am using the action edit to update the Document.

From the Design point of view, What should be the ideal way to handle the lock unlock status of the item being updated.

Identify when affected Items' server methods are being invoked on Express ECO Release/Revise?

I have some Custom BOM Item Types controlled by the Express ECO.

On the custom Items we have the on Before Update and On after Update Server Events responsible for formulating the name(based on some specific field values) of these Items.

Is there a standard way to ensure that the server methods are not called while the Items are promoted to the released state from the Express ECO(Release/Revise)?

P.S. When it is called the On Before Update Method doesn't receive the entire context of the affected Item and sets the name to blank value.

Hide Relationship Tabs based on Parent Classification Type

Hi All,

Use case : On Part Item , based on the classification Type selected , the Part BoM relationship tab should be Hidden/Made Visible.

I know it is now possible to hide tabs without using any custom code with the help of CUI ,

With the help of the same I was able to set the Tab Visibility based on the Item Type Classification :

However , On Creation of the Part Item when the user selects the Classification Assembly , the CUI changes are not available, only when the user closes the Part and opens it again does the "Part BOM" relationship become visible.

Is there any way to invoke the CUI changes on the Form Events ? Or should I be using a Method to hide/unhide the relationship tab rather than the CUI for the current use case.

Self Service Reporting, Concatenate Property Values

Hi All, I am trying to build a Basic report using SSRS.

I have a requirement where in I want to concatenate values of two Properties and show it in a single Column, Is that Possible using SSRS ?

Eg. the Item Type Name and Label should be displayed as "Name(Label)" in a single Column.

Will I be able to use the Expression Property to achieve the above use case ?

Also, Is there any documentation available which provides a detailed explanation on the SSRS Reporting Configurations ?

Confidential Data Storing in Aras

Hi All ,

What would be the ideal way to store values in Aras that are confidential.

Example : I am calling an url from within an Aras Method and I do not want to expose the URL value in my Method or on the Item.

I was wondering that somehow the value should be stored in the database in an encrypted format and decrypted in the Method where it is invoked.

Is there a way to achieve this in Aras and is this the correct approach to handle sensitive data.

Upload file Rest API using Logic App

I am currently developing a sample project in Azure Logic Apps using the Aras Restful APIs.

However while trying to Execute the vault.UploadFile API I am facing the 500 error message:

Dynamic Workflow voting

However there are some validations on the pre transition method of an activity, as long as the validation passes the method runs fine. However in case of an error message , the respective workflow activity is getting closed (it is supposed to remain active).

Could someone please let me know why this is happening.
