SearchMode Validation failed

Hi Experts!,

Please help me resolve the below issue in PLM 11ver, sp9.

Am trying to search some documents and getting the below warning message. my default search is set to simple search mode. And it works fine for other searches such as parts, cad's so on. But for only one type of items are not searchable. I tried this is in different browsers but no luck. Also tried cancel/continue and clear options as shown in that dialog and nothing worked for me.

Can any one explain me why such message is shown and how to fix that.

Can't complete activity. user is not from allowed identity | Urgent!!

Hi Experts!,

One of the user receives the error "Can't complete activity. user is not from allowed identity" on voting completion of a part in a workflow.

The workflow has many activity and he facing the issue in just one activity("ECRB"). And that activity has a sub workflow ("subflow_ECRB") and user is trying to vote one of that sub workflow activity. Activity is "ECRB_Sorucing Approver" as shown below. I had given permission to the part lifecycle of that ECRB activity state permission. and also given the state permission to activity "To Sourc Incorp" That dint work out. I had given the workflow process permissions to that user. Not worked. Given permissions to Part item type level itself. Not worked. Added him to admin group and that too doesn't help. But if i create a new workflow and that user can able to approve the same activity ECRB tasks without any errors.

But there are many workflows in the error state. How can i fix the issue without canceling all the workflows. I couldn't troubleshoot this error. I see methods are working fine. But before hitting the methods this error pops up. so i couldn't find what code is broken. Is it a system generated error? How can i capture that and see which line code is failed so that i can grant permission to that assigned identity. Or anything i missed out in terms of giving permission?

Please help me to resolve this issue asap.

[Urgent]How to change the "State" in Preview property dialog

Hi Experts,

I have an issue with State of the Part item. Due to some issue the workflow process was cancelled in between some state . Then the state of the part was updated via sql query from Under ECO submission" to "Work In Progress". But if i search for the part i can see the grid state as WIP but the preview property dialog still shows the previous State of that part. Pls ref the below image for better idea,

I have no idea how to update the state in preview property window. Is there any table that holds the data of preview properties where i can update the state? or is it just a view of Part table? they why it is not changing the state.

Or is there any ways to change the state of preview property when actual Part state is in WIP? Please help me fix this issue.

Hi Team,

I couldn't vote for an activity and move to another activity in a workflow. While hitting the complete button of voting dialogue it throws the below shown error

I verified the Activities life cycle state permission and added the user identity group and given update access.

Also added the identity to workflow process item type permission and given the update access to that identity.

I checked the part item generation as 1 and it is in unlocked state. What else need to check to fix the issue.

This happens only for few users and mainly in one sub workflow activity voting. Other activities in workflow is going smooth with votings.

lifecycle of the part and am voting for DAB at DRB activity. Both the activities state permissions added with user identity with update access.

Another important thing is the Activity DRB has sub workflow and am trying to vote for DRB QA and Sourcing which is always giving one or the other error on permissions.Sometimes update operation /sometimes Add operation permission issues.

As am a fresher struggling to resolve this issue. Am not sure what am missing to update in permissions. How to fix this? any other ways to approach this issue?

Edit a comment in signoff report of a closed task in workflow process

The ask is to edit or change the comment in a signoff report of a closed workflow process.

the task is already in closed state with some comments as shown below

But now they wanted to rewrite the comment differently as per some requirement.

I couldn't find any direct ways in PLM to modify the signoff comment. Thought to do this from Backend. But i couldn't identify the relevant data table where the workflow process sign off history is stored.

First of all Is this a valid request? if so how to modify the comment in signoff history?

Please throw some light!

Obsolete method warning for innovator 11.0 SP9

Am using a C# Method which is used to fetch the related parts of a CAD. On Syntax check i get an Obsolete method warning as shown below,

Line number 332, Warning Number: CS0618, 'Aras.Server.Core.ICachePublicAPI.GetItemTypeFromCache(ref string, ref string)' is obsolete: 'Obsolete starting from 9.3. Do not use in server core.'

But this method was working fine before.

Due to this warning the method is not working as expected. Am very new to PLM Aaras programming. I couldn't understand what is happening and how to resolve. Is there any method to replace the Obselete method or how? Any quick response would be more appreciated.

Failed to get the ItemType with ID undefined

Am trying to approve some tasks in my inbasket. But i couldn't view a proper work item in the grid. I can see some junk numbers as work item and on click of that i get the error as

"Failed to get the ItemType with ID undefined"
