Migrating the Configurations done using tp_block in ARAS Technical Documentation

Dear Team,

We have done bunch of configurations inside tp_block (ItemType) in ARAS Technical Documentation in our local environment.

We would like to migrate tp_block (ItemType) along with those configuration to another Development Environment in another server.

Someone told us, its not possible to do this; since tp_block is default ItemType created inside ARAS Technical documentation module and any changes/configurations made in specific local environment can't be migrated and overwritten to another Development Environment in another server.

Hence we need to manually redo the same changes/configurations in another Development Environment in another server.

Please clarify and confirm this is correct.

If its not correct, please suggest how this migration of tp_block can be accomplished.

Dear all,

Wondering if anyone of you have noticed this and have a known solution already.

In ARAS technical documentation using "Standard" schema and Standard Style settings, I created document with list-item and please see below.

In editor mode, it looks fine and the text and bullet points are aligned and they are in same line.

However, when I publish it to PDF, I could see the text has dropped down and it is not in same line with bullet list.

Wondering if this is a bug in ARAS (or) is there a solution for this?

Please clarify.

TOC section in ARAS Technical Documentation not updating after applying filtering conditions

Dear all,

I am hoping someone would have come across the situation which I am facing and hopefully already have a known solution that exists.

I have created maxcase technical document in ARAS Technical documentation module and have applied series of filter conditions.

Once I publish my document to PDF for a set of required filter conditions; and then open PDF, I see in Table of Contents page, along with filtered chapters and sections; there also appears these non-filtered chapters and sections with page number as 0 and chapter/section number as 0.

I don't want these (unwanted chapters/sections which are filtered out based on my applied filter conditions) to appear in table of contents page with page number as 0 and chapter/section number as 0.

Please help me how to get rid of this.

Attached below is snapshot on how it looks like in published PDF (pink highlighted ones with 0 are not required to have in TOC)

Dear all,

I have a technical document with filtering conditions applied.

I would like to extract a report to get the list of filter conditions that is applied to each content inside chapter and section.

Right now, I can see it only after going to each chapter/section content and right-click -> View condition; this is cumbersome and tedious process.

Rather, I would like to have some kind of export where in one click / single view; I can see the conditions applied to each content throughout the entire document.

Please suggest how this can be achieved. I don't see any option available in out of the box ARAS set-up/configuration.

Does it need any customization?

Please clarify and help.

Technical Documentation - Adding External content to another document with automatic renumbering of chapters and Sections

Dear all,

I have created many chapters and sections and stored them as External document. These chapter and section documents have numbering which starts with 1.

Finally I am using these chapters and sections in another document by using add->External option.

I wanted the chapter and section numbering to get aligned and renumbered based on the destination document.

Currently, when I insert the content (add->External), in the destination document, I am seeing each document getting inserted with Chapter and Section numbering as 1 and 1.1.

I want 1, 1.1 and 2, 2.1, etc.....

I don't know how to achieve this.

Please help.

Getting Error message when I try to import "imports.mf" file created in another server

I am getting below error message, when I try to import file "imports.mf" into my local server.

Note: I stored the file in my documents and just gave the location in path.

My purpose here is, some of the methods and item types created in another server, I would like to export and import into my local server. So one of my colleagues sent me this "imports.imf" file which I am trying now to import using Import utility but getting below error message.

Please help and provide solution.

Unable to open 2 options under Requirements Engineering module installed

I have successfully installed Requirements Engineering and all other modules are functioning properly.

But when I click on "Requirements" and "Requirements Document", I get below error message:

Note: The "Graphics" option under Requirements Engineering is working properly.

I also tried un-installing and re-installing RE module but no luck (all other modules are working fine except these 2 options under RE).

Please help to fix this.

I have a technical clarification on ARAS Technical documentation module. The XML schema which we build using CSS, does it conform to DITA (Darwin Information Typing Architecture) Standard? Can anyone please clarify this?

Unable to install project Management

Dear all,

I am looking to install project management from ARAS Update. When I give the install path and other DB details and click "Install", it stands still. There is no error message received either.

Please suggest if there are any pre-requisite applications I need to install.

Of course, I have installed ARAS Innovator and Technical documentation module from ARAS UPDATE.
