Aras Product Update 2025

It includes the recent styling updates and user productivity features, enhancements to Aras Reporting, the rollout of the AI Assistant, a new CE release, and much more. New Community Platform for Partners

The Partner Portal is getting an updated experience on a new platform! This transition is part of our commitment to continuously improve the experience our community has with Aras. To help with this transition, we have put together an FAQ below and will email members closer to the move with you to help make this a smooth update.

What is new or different in the new community? Why are we making this switch?
- Community has long been important to Aras, and recently we have been making new investments into it as part of “Build with Aras” and other initiatives. During our review of the community as part of these initiatives, we have determined that it is time to update the experience to make it more cohesive across the different tools that we provide our subscribers, partners, and community edition users. This move is the first part of a comprehensive project with more enhanced experiences coming in the next 12 months.

How do I see the partner information?
- We will be providing more information closer to launch, but this new experience will be based on login. Once you have set up an account on the new platform, the system will know who you are and show you the information that you need. If you are not seeing something right away, make sure you are logged in.

How will we be notified of the switch?
- We will be sending out an email to all community members with login instructions when the new platform is live.

Do I need to create a new account?
- We will be migrating over your username and basic information, but everyone will need to reset their password. Instructions on how to do this will be provided when the new platform is live.

Will my information (posts, replies, profile information, and preferences) be moved over?
- We will be moving over all of your past posts and replies. We ask that you review and update your profile information and preferences, as different platforms have different settings, and we will not be able to move it all over exactly as it currently is. Also, there will be new badges and rankings on the new platform that will be updated based on your past activity.

Will there be any downtime during the switch?
- We do expect that there will be a short time when we will not allow new members to join, and during which current members will not be able to post or reply to others. This short downtime is to ensure that we have everything migrated. We will update this post with more detailed information as it comes closer to the switch.

Who do I contact for help or support? Or to suggest improvements?
- For any issues with logging in or if you have any suggestions on how to improve the new experience, please contact communitysupport@aras.com. For everything else, please create a support ticket.

R35 delivers updated User Experience

The latest release of Aras Innovator, R35, is now available and contains many new updates including significant improvements to the user experience. For an overview of the changes please see this presentation. Because of these changes to styling and usability this release impacts partners more than usual:

All partners should familiarize themselves with these changes so that they understand the latest look-and-feel of Aras Innovator
VAR partners should move to the R35 demo environment (coming soon) as soon as possible to stay current with the new look
ISV partners should plan for updates to screenshots and videos that show the Aras Innovator UI in their marketing materials, documentation, and entries in the Aras Marketplace.

Aras IOM SDK now distributed standalone

As we previewed during ACE Partner Day, the Aras IOM SDK is now distributed as a standalone package, independent of Aras Innovator releases, as of R35. This decoupling simplifies version management, streamlines delivery, and allows the SDK to evolve independently of Innovator upgrades. Here are some technical details from Valentin Shapovalov, VP Product Development:

Recompiling with the standalone IOM SDK does not automatically guarantee that a partner’s solution will work properly with all Innovator versions from R14 onward, functional compatibility still depends on how the connector uses the Aras Innovator APIs and features. It’s important to keep in mind that IOM is a transport/connectivity layer — not an abstraction layer that hides differences between Innovator versions.

With the IOM SDK now released as a standalone artifact, it's no longer tied 1:1 to a specific version of Aras Innovator.

It’s built to support a range of releases (e.g. starting with R14 and up), which should make things easier for partners who previously had to maintain separate builds of solutions like CAD Connectors for each Innovator version.

So, even though the IOM layer is compatible, it’s still important to test the connector with each Innovator version the partner plans to support.

If a new Innovator release like R36 comes out, and we confirm during our release testing that the current IOM SDK remains compatible with it, then partners can test their existing connector against R36. If it passes validation, there’s no need to rebuild or release a new version of the connector or ask users to update the IOM.dll in place, which previously was required with each Innovator release.

The SDK is no longer included in the Aras Innovator platform releases, but developers can obtain the SDK either from NuGet.org (for .NET-based packages) or via our software downloads on MFT.

New Aras Managed File Transfer

Aras has introduced the new Managed File Transfer system (MFT) which replaces the former Aras FTP site as the means by which you exchange files with Aras Support and access downloads of Aras software. MFT is accessed here: https://mft.aras.com. Similar to FTP, one account has been provided to each partner, and we've sent a welcome email to a single contact at each partner in order to complete the account setup. If you are not sure who that contact person is at your company, please email us here at partners@aras.com and we'll provide that to you.

All of your existing files on FTP have been moved over to MFT, and as of May 24, FTP is set to be read-only. As of May 30 FTP will be turned off entirely.

If you have had access to your customers' FTP folders in the past, you should have access in MFT as well. If you find that you don't have access to specific customer folders, please have the customer open a Support ticket to add the necessary access.

Partner Portal Refresh

We are happy to announce significant updates to our Partner Portal to better serve you as a valued Aras partner. Usability has been improved by dividing it into four main sections with explanations of what each link provides, and important new content has been added. Here’s some key points for each section:

GTM Readiness – For the first time we are providing access to our Sales Plays, which can be accessed with the “2025 Sales Plays” button.
Build with Aras – Includes links to product help and training plus two new Knowledge Base resources from Support (system architecture guidelines) and our SaaS experts.
Aras Resources – Includes easier access to Support and Upgrade info, plus Software and Licensing including the new Managed File Transfer (MFT), the FTP replacement.
