CorporateTimeZone Variable is not set.

I have tried updating the timezones data but didn't help.

Configuration file missing when adding SP9 as a reference package in Aras Update

I get an error when adding the new SP as a reference file to Aras Update to upgrade Innovator.

"Configuration file missing in path G:\ ... package.config"

Must I extract the Zip within the Aras install folder (x86)?

Installing Aras without windows server or IIS server for student

Im needing to play around on Aras PLM for my masters thesis but i dont have access to windows server or an IIS server is there a way to install Aras without these? maybe some sort of free to use virtual machine?

Defining a workflow process and map vs process plan

If my understanding is correct. a lifecycle is the states an item (be it a part, equipment or document) goes through.

The manufacturing process plan is the plan (list of operations and steps) required to realize a part or product.

Then what is the workflow map, process, activity, assignment and task? And can a workflow process not be the same as a manufacturing process plan?

Is there possibly a document that clearly defines these, their relation to one another and to which items they relate to (part, product, document etc.)

Best practice for creating and managing large requirements documents

I am wanting to record large requirements documents that are interrelated. Essentially a web of connected standards and specifications. Is it best to first add all these standards and specifications as individual requirements then create a requirements document that references the requirements or to create the document from the start and create the requirements directly in the document?

Additionally, is there a way to add a high-level requirement into a requirement document and be able to expand that requirement to input all the outgoing linked requirements and their outgoing linked requirements and so forth?

Having troubles installing PE, CE and RE

Managing Machine and Process Lifecycles in Aras?

Is it possible to manage machine/process lifecycles in Aras? From installation through qualification to maintenance and calibration etc.

Essentially intersecting the product lifecycle at production.

Hierarchy of processes, activities, tasks and their respective documentation norms

I am trying to assess Aras's capability as a manufacturing system modeller and QMS document system.

I'm a bit unsure how the hierarchy of processes, activities, tasks etc is defined in Aras. I know there is often many different terms for the same thing used within industry and academia. Below is an example hierarchy I refer to, can this be represented in Aras and what is the terminology used by Aras?

1. High-level organisational processes (planning, manufacturing, testing etc.)

2. Sub-level processes {planning} = (feasibility assessment, job preparation, quality planning, develop manufacturing plan)

3. Activities {feasibility assessment} = (assess the design, assess resources and inventory, estimate lead time, cost analysis ...)

4. Tasks {assess design} = (determine part volume, determine part complexity to manufacture, determine if fixture is needed ...)

5. Work Instructions for each task.

I hope this explains what I'm requiring.

I'm presuming the process plans, workflow maps, workflow processes etc are the tools I will need to use, I just don't understand how these tools are hierarchically defined, interlinked and decomposed from high to low level functions.

Secondly, is the process quality document essentially the same as a standard operating procedure (SOP)?

Cant add MAC address when requesting a license key

Tried to login to the aras platform today after a while, and get the error "The Database is not available:License Key is invalid." So I tried to request the license key again, but in the request form it wont allow me to put in my desktops MAC address.

Workflow map opening problem

I explore free version of Aras.

Facing problem with opening any of default workflow maps and same behaviour when I create new one. There is progress circle animating infinitely and nothing is displayed.

Could you give any suggestions?

I cant seem to get my workflow maps to open, and therefore cant edit or create new workflows.

Ive attached a picture to show what happens, the loading sign just goes on forever.
