I want to show all the data

How to delete cookies that are stored by the R35 Import Tool? I right now cannot change the target database...

Hi community,

I want to upload a small package with the Import Tool. I did a test run first with a test database, that is on the same server as the target database. The test was successful. I now want to import the same data to the target database.

Now the fun part:

The modern WebView2-based high-tech "Import Tool" doesn´t allow me to switch the database. I get automatically logged in to the test database as soon as I entered my credentials. It´s seems that the session cookie is reused. Typically the preferred database is also stored in the cookies.

It´s no problem to delete the cookies in a regular browser. But how can I delete them in the Import Tool?

I have a couple of Import Tools, so I can also use an older version. But I wonder if there is a more elegant solution available.
Or do I really have to "wait" for the cookies to expire? The database cookie ist stored for 30 days.... 🙂

Does anyone Know How to open an Item using aras.uiShowItemInFrameEx();
i tried the below way.

const item = aras.getItemById("part","85FA7D64281A404E8AF6596650F50994");

aras.uiShowItemInFrameEx(window,item,'view');

i want to replace the form of an itemtype on button click to the above part item when a button is clicked .

does anyone have any idea how to do this ?

The PDF Viewer icon & functionality is added for CAD & Parts.

How can I add to my ItemType when my ItemType is already SVC enabled.

I tried Client Style , but no success

does anyone of you use the classic "Parameters" tab?

It´s a quite old building technique. Technically it was replaced with xProperties.
But I have one use case where this classic tab is still used today.

Some end users report that the tab sometimes don´t show up when a Part opened. But the missing tab typically appears when the same Part is opened again or if the Part is edited. It doesn´t happen very often, but often enough for people to report the issue. In the rare cases the issue occurs, the complete tab is missing.

The used Innovator version 12SP7. I wonder if this behavior is caused by the Innovator version OR any of my custom Methods that are executing when opening the Form.

Is anyone familiar with the Parameters tab and has seen this behavior before?

Hi community,

does anyone of know how to use the "Version 2" type for ItemType Server Methods?

Let´s assume we use an onAfterAdd/Update event in the Part BOM ItemType. With Event Version 1 the event is fired for each single row.
Which version 2 it would be executed on the complete item group.

From my POV version 2 is useful to improve performance for certain tasks. But there is not much information out there that describe how to use this version type.

The context item in version 2 is empty by default. So "this" simply contains nothing when we execute a Method with "Version 2".
I assume that we have to extract the information of the affected items from the "eventData" parameter in the background.

I found some minor code samples in the code used for Effectivity and Derived Relationships. But they are to specific for being used in other contexts.

Does anyone know more about using "Version 2"? Thanks for any tip!!!

what is the purpose of the "isCriteria" attribute? It´s described in the programmers guide like this:

"If 0 then include the nested structure for the Item configuration in the response but don't use it as search criteria. Default is 1, which uses the nested structure in the request as search criteria."

I tested the attribute with an AML query with relationships. I even tested original Aras queries that use the attribute. I never noticed any difference in the query result.

Does anyone know more?

Hello, how can I display all generations of my Part by applying a filter in my query definition? I'm in the case of a child-parent relationship.
I read the builder guide but the examples are mostly in the parent-child direction.I work on Aras 22.Thank you.

TreeGridView performance

We have "changes" tab to list, in a tree grid view, the change objects which have gone through on a given Part.

However, loading this tab is terribly slow.

I have found out that the query itself is quite fast. When I run it in the query editor, it takes less than a second. However, the Tree Grid View can take almost 20 seconds to load. Even on a fresh part with no change items, it takes 15+ seconds.

The call which takes time is an odata call to /Server/odata/method.rb_GetTreeGridData, which takes the entire 2500+ line rb_TreeGridViewDefinition as input (why? It's a server side method, although a very odd one I can't see the implementation of, and the data it gets passed lives on the server too!)

Have anyone had any success in optimizing the loading of tree grid view structures?

How to get more specific error details from getErrorDetail() ?

Hi community,

we can use getErrorString() and getErrorDetail() to catch error information from failed queries.

getErrorString() only contains a short description, while getErrorDetail returns the short-description + some long text + some XML content.

Does anyone know a way to only get the xml part of getErrorDetails() that contain the item information?

I most of the time use getErrorString, but I have a use case for mass operations, where the xml part contains the relevant information if something went wrong.

I want to provide more precise feedback to the end users (what has failed exactly), but also use the xml information to call some "automatically repair if this error happens" function. But for this function I would need the item information in the xml part.

Does anyone has and idea to get more specific error details?

How to prevent that the login token is stored in browser favorites that end users create?

Hi community,

when user "star" the Innovator link in the browser, it can happen that the login token is part of the link. The next time they try to open Innovator it will not work, as they work with an outdated token. Typically users get a blank white screen.

Solution is simple: Use the correct link! I mention this fact in my initial user invitation email and training, manuals, etc. . But from time to time users still forget to store the correct link.

Can we somehow achieve that the browser link is stored without the secondary data? Is this behavior still a thing in Innovator 14?
