MPP 2025 Release (14.0.3) Corrupt Archive

Hello,

When attempting to download Manufacturing Process Planning version 2025 Release (14.0.3) via Aras Update, the "Download is failed."

Aras Update logs:

Opened C:\ProgramData\Aras\ArasUpdate\MPP and attempted to manually extract 14.03.130, and extract fails:

Tested the archive for 14.03.130 with 7-Zip, and it is reported as not an archive:

Additionally, this issue was replicated on several systems, and I attempted to run Aras Update as Administrator.

Are there any other options for getting the archive? I am not a subscriber, so I do not have FTP access.

Batch Loader Download Location / Source Code

Where do I download the files for the batch loader?

In the past I ran it from the server itself but I don't have access to the server right now.

Can I just download the files and run it from my computer?

I can't seem to find any information, everything seems to assume you already have access to the application.

I'd also be interested in taking a look at the source code, if it is open source

HTTP Error 500.19 after installing Innovator 2025 - Solved

I recently installed the Community version of Aras Innovator on a windows 11 24H2 computer. Installation completed with no errors but when trying to browse to //localhost/InnovatorServer/Client I got an HTTP Error 500.10 ( it also referenced the web.config file but there was nothing wrong with it.

The solution was to download and install the MS .Net 8.0 Hosting bundle from

https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/download/dotnet/thank-you/runtime-aspnetcore-8.0.18-windows-hosting-bundle-installer

Once that was done and IIS restarted , the client responded properly.

The PDF Viewer icon & functionality is added for CAD & Parts.

How can I add to my ItemType when my ItemType is already SVC enabled.

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) in Innovator - what options do we have in 2025?

title already sums up the question. What options do we have for two-factor authentication in Innovator? I assume Innovator in an Azure cloud or similar can do it. But what options do we have for regular non-cloud instances?

I know that additional authentication modes are available for subscribers. But I am not much into this topic.
Does anyone know more?

Downloading ARAS community edition

I'm unable to download ARAS community edition through the link provided in email. I'm getting DNS error from yesterday.

I tried submitting new form and got new link in email. Getting same error agin.

Anyone facing similar issue? or any workaround available?

Editing an item via REST API without item id. Can we specify a WHERE attribute?

Hi community,

I want to edit a custom item in Innovator via REST API. Typically the command looks like this:

PATCH {base url}/Part(’16AA95A80DEB4B56BD8BA9BC509EAF0C’)

My 2nd software that shall do the REST call doesn´t know the target item id. I only have the serial number (item_number) of the target item in Innovator.

For regular AML queries we can use the WHERE attribute to perform these kinds of edit operations.
Is something similar available in the REST API?

An alternative solution would be to do a regular GET request first to get the ID. Or maybe a custom Method that does the edit with a standard AML query.

Any ideas? What would you recommend?

What does the "isCriteria" attribute do?

Hi Community,

what is the purpose of the "isCriteria" attribute? It´s described in the programmers guide like this:

"If 0 then include the nested structure for the Item configuration in the response but don't use it as search criteria. Default is 1, which uses the nested structure in the request as search criteria."

I tested the attribute with an AML query with relationships. I even tested original Aras queries that use the attribute. I never noticed any difference in the query result.

Does anyone know more?

How to prevent that the login token is stored in browser favorites that end users create?

Hi community,

when user "star" the Innovator link in the browser, it can happen that the login token is part of the link. The next time they try to open Innovator it will not work, as they work with an outdated token. Typically users get a blank white screen.

Solution is simple: Use the correct link! I mention this fact in my initial user invitation email and training, manuals, etc. . But from time to time users still forget to store the correct link.

Can we somehow achieve that the browser link is stored without the secondary data? Is this behavior still a thing in Innovator 14?

IOM Factory (VBA)

I want to update part bom quantity based on the data in Excel
I registered the IOM.tdl in the VBA tool and wrote the following VBA code (based on the manual):

ARAS 31 soap-env:server authentication failed for admin authentication failed for admin

Hai,

We have upgraded to ARAS 31 from 12. The migration is in progress. While login from application Its working fine. But while login from web API we are getting an error "soap-env:server authentication failed for admin authentication failed for admin"

We have tried to give the password in MD5 hash format for username admin.

But the error not yet solved.

can anyone help us on this?

There are some certificates files of Aras software. The expiration date is only one year. This means that we have to update these certificates every year, otherwise, we cannot use the software. Does anyone know how to update the certificates and extend their expiration date? Can it be extended more longer than one year?

What characters are forbidden in regular Innovator passwords?

when creating regular Aras accounts (no LDAP) I noticed that certain characters in passwords don´t work.

The user cannot login if certain characters are used in the password, e.g. " or §. Is there an official list of characters to avoid?

Query a List of Items

Hello,

I am an ARAS Innovator user. I have a list of parts in excel that I want to search for, but I don't want to search for them all individually.

For a list of size n that has elements I'll call item(i), I want the search to return results that contain item(1) OR item(2) OR item(3) ...OR item(n).

How can I do this? I am aware of the "simple, advanced, AML, and hidden" search options, but I don't know how to use them, nor do I know AML. Maybe one of those has the flexibility to perform this task.

In Aras Innovator 14 Release 29, it is possible to change the CurrentValue value to 0 in the PhysicalPart screen even if the ResetTrigger for the LifeParameter of the DTC is No. > See 'Even if the ResetTrigger of DTC's LifeParameter is No, the CurrentValue value can be changed to 0 on the PhysicalPart screen.png'.

The manual stated that it would not be possible to reset, so we read it as an expectation that the CurrentValue value cannot be set to 0. > Please refer to "Corresponding section in manual_DTC_UserGuideP152.png".

Is this a defect? If not, could you please tell us what function is controlled by the Reset Trigger value?

Unable to login to Aras 14.0.9 using 'root' login

Hi,

I'm unable to login with username 'root' and password as 'innovator'.

It throws below error while trying to login. Anyone else had this error? Do we need to update the 'Innovatorserverconfig.xml' to reflect the username and password? I've also tried using the credentials created for database 'InnovatorSolutions' still no avail.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi All,

I have installed ARAS innovator 14.0.9 in our test environment (windows server) for users to test which will eventually deployed in production soon.

When I access http://aras/innovatorserver URL from the workstation, I receive error 'The Page isn't redirecting properly', when I click on 'Continue to client' then I get a 500- Internal server error.

Attached are screenshots of programs and supporting apps on the server and workstation.

Any thoughts on how to get this fixed please?
