I want to develop a vb.net web application that allows me to read from an item specific fields
I managed to connect from an external web application and managed to write data from this web application, however I have not achieved how to retrieve an existing variable within an item, it is possible that you can guide me, or direct me to a simple example , to know how I can perform this operation.

To the best of my knowledge, there isn't a Java sdk for Aras Innovator. That being said, Oracle does have an API for handing SOAP messages which you can use to communicate with the Innovator server. I have seen customers in the past create Java applications for Aras Innovator entirely through SOAP communication.
