Hi Ahmed,
Do you just want to prevent users from editing an item? If that's the case, you can uncheck "Update" for one or more identities in the ItemType's permission item. Or if you want to prevent users from editing any item in a specific lifecycle state, you can select the "Not Lockable" option for the state in the lifecycle map editor.
