Earlier today I got my hands on the release package for the upgrades to our Express Change package. This is included in the PE11R2 package (Service Pack 3 required). This new capability adds to our already well known and used Express Change tools - Enterprise Change Order and Document Change Order.
Our customers have been asking us to include document item types in the ECO and we have responded with what we feel is a great offering. This is built on what is our already powerful impact matrix. This capability browses the BOM relationships of a part that is being changed and presents the user with the related parts that should be considered for impact.
What you will find in the release:
- Ability to add documents to an ECO. This includes those with Part Document or Part CAD relationships to the part items.
- The Impact matrix is upgraded to browse the Part Document and Part CAD relationships to present the user with a better view of the impact from a change. Eg. part update will present user with the related 3D model for update (Part CAD) and the related specification document for update (Part Document)
- Ability to group impacted items to be managed together via a property in the impact matrix.
- New change item - Enterprise Document Review (EDR) that acts in a subordinate role to the ECO. Collects the items tagged with a group into "child" EDR(s) which will each have their own workflow.
- Visual Management - additional color coded information to give quick feedback to the user.
