FEATURED PROJECT: Corrective & Preventative Actions (CAPA)

The Quality Systems project is a community-developed solution that includes forms and processes for quality compliance and includes an 8D corrective & preventive action process (CAPA).

CAPA identifies product and process issues in order to correct the root cause, prevent recurrence and assure that closed-loop resolution is effective.

The CAPA process addresses internal corrective actions as well as Customer Corrective Actions and Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR).

Project includes:

  • Standard 5-phase, 8D corrective & preventive action process for closed-loop resolution
  • Supports compliance with the ISO 9001 standard and industry standards such as TS/16949 [Automotive], AS9100 [Aerospace], FDA QSR [Medical Devices] and others
  • Workflows, forms and reports to capture, process and route Corrective Action Reports (CARs), Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR), Customer Complaints and other issues
  • Attach documents, spreadsheets and other files such as QA/QC data like X-bar & R charts, Fishbone diagrams, "5 Why's" analysis, etc
  • Generate reports and create dashboards with drill down capabilities on CAPA status, product issues, problem areas, supplier performance and more
